We are now organizing committees to help make our 2nd Annual Tasting by the Book a success. Volunteers are needed to help manage ticket sales, decorate, set up, clean up, be a liaison to the Community Cooks, send out sponsorship letters, or just help where needed! Thirty Community Cooks will also be needed for the event. An organizational meeting for all potential volunteers will be held on Tuesday, April 19 at 7 PM at the Abington Community Library. Please contact Amanda Sheptak at email@example.com / 570-357-6205 or Angela Weinberg firstname.lastname@example.org/ 570-499-4505 to become involved, or call the library at 570.587.3440 to sign up for this meeting.
On Saturday evening, October 22, 2nd Annual Tasting by the Book at the Abington Community Library will provide the opportunity to mingle with friends old and new. Attend this signature event and sample delicious food and beverages, then bid on your favorite items to enjoy at a later date. Tickets will be available at a later date.
Finally, If you have a specialty soup, salad, appetizer, entree, beverage, or dessert that is well known among family and friends nominate yourself to be one of our featured Community Cooks for the evening. Community Cooks must be prepared to donate bite-sized samples for 150 people of their specialty. They must also be prepared to provide a quantity (their choice) of the same item, to the highest bidder, between Oct. 2016 – Sept. 2017 at a mutually agreed upon date. Community Cooks will receive one free ticket to the event (value $25). Tasting cups, napkins, forks, table clothes, and decorations will all be provided. Please contact Amanda Sheptak at email@example.com / 570-357-6205 or Angela Weinberg firstname.lastname@example.org / 570-499-4505 to reserve your place of honor as a Community Cook!
