Help for Foster Care Kids

August Library Collection

Children in the foster care system are often moved from place to place with little advanced notice, and often the things that they are closest to are their personal possessions – clothes, stuffed animals, a favorite toy. Typically, a child moving from one foster placement to another is forced to carry his or her things in a plastic bag or cardboard box.

You can give them a safe and dignified way to carry what they own by donating a suitcase or backpack in good condition during our August collection. All sizes are needed, so if you have any of these items, give them a new use with youngsters who need and will appreciate them.

Drop your donation off at any Lackawanna County library during the month of August.
