Attention library users: there are now even more audiobooks at your disposal. If you’re like me and find yourself constantly driving somewhere, RBdigital (formerly OneClickDigital) is welcome news. Recently, the district was able to purchase a larger subscription which now opens up a whole new slew of bestsellers, classics, and even books for children and teens. Time to get your device out!
Elizabeth Davis, head of Digital Services for the Northeast Library District says “We’re excited about the new additions to the collection of eAudiobooks via RBdigital. It provides readers on the go a great opportunity to enjoy new books as well as discover old favorites. The new RBdigital app makes it easier for new listeners to fall in love with audiobooks.” Many of the books now offered are multi-access, so several users can download titles at the same time, reducing holds. RBdigital is compatible with all popular listening devices, and mobile apps are available for iOS, Android, and Kindle Fire devices.
Already, I’ve made a note to download The Burning Girl by Claire Messud (a soon-to-be-released title from one of my favorite authors) and downloaded Here I Am by Jonathan Safran Foer (a book I am woefully behind on reading).
To use RBdigital, go to: http://scrantonpa.rbdigital.com/ and click ‘Register’. Once you complete your information, go to your app store of choice and download the app ‘RBdigital’. You will need to sign in with your username or email and then you are ready to download audiobooks and ebooks. RBdigital works nicely in conjunction with Libby, the other audiobook/ebook app you have free access to with your library card. Between them, you should never be in want of something to listen to or read.
If you have any questions or need help with the app, stop in anytime at your local library and we would be more than thrilled to get you set-up with RBdigital. Happy listening!
