Time to Change Your Batteries
Don’t forget to turn your clocks back one hour before you go to bed on Saturday night, Nov. 4, because Daylight Savings Time ends on Sunday. It’s your annual chance to get an extra hour of sleep. You’ll sleep even better if you use the occasion to change the batteries in your smoke detectors. That’s the recommendation of the International Association of Fire Chiefs. The IAFC reports that 71% of smoke alarms that fail to operate during a house fire have dead or disconnected batteries.
So put batteries on your Saturday shopping list and change them before you go to bed. Do the same with your carbon monoxide detectors, too, and get a good and safe night’s sleep.
