Bethany Pisanchyn, a Dalton resident and a music teacher in the Pocono Mountain School District, is the winner of the 2014 “The Library In My Life” essay contest. She received a Nexus 7 Notebook during a ceremony at the Abington Community Library. It was presented by Mary Garm, library system administrator, and Leah Rudolf, direct of the Abington Library. Bethany’s essay tells the story of how the library helped her find a new job after she was laid off due to budget cuts. A lifelong library user, she concluded her essay, “I can depend on my local library, knowing that it is always there welcoming me to read, relax or research.”
