Thursday, August 20th @ 7 P.M.
The Bog, 341 Adams Avenue, Scranton
For 2015, Scranton Reads will revisit a book that marked the passage into adolescence for many people. J.D. Salinger’s “Catcher in the Rye” has been chosen for this year’s One City, One Book event, which seeks to unite the community in the reading of a common book.
Spelling Bees were another rite of passage for many so the Scranton Reads committee plans a “Grown-Up Spelling Bee” to recapture that experience, too.
Open to participants over 21 years of age, the Grown-Up Spelling Bee has an admission fee of $3. Play solo or enter as part of a team of five for fun and prizes.
Proceeds will be used to purchase copies of “The Catcher in the Rye” for Scranton Reads.
