The Abington Community Library is very pleased to also announce the generous support of Fidelity Deposit & Discount Bank, as part of the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program. “In keeping with the spirity of the Community Reinvestment Act,”, this bank is committed to giving back to the communities they serve with generous contributions such as this one. The money awarded by Fidelity Bank will be used to underwrite Abington’s Battle of the Books teams, a Teen Reading Lounge, and our elementary school After School Reading Club. The contribution will also underwrite numerous Junior Achievement Financial Literacy programs, a fitting collaboration between three organizations: JA, the bank, and the Library.

As an Educational Improvement Organization, the Abington Community Library is fortunate to be attached to the Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program (EITC) of the State of Pennsylvania. This program invites businesses, such as Fidelity Bank, to contribute to this Library as a benefit to themselves as well as to the Library. The commitment can be for one year or two, and the application process is simple; a one-page application is all that is required. If your company or business pays corporate taxes to the state of Pennsylvania, please consider participating in this program to give a voice to the allocation of your monies.
