A Museum Adventure in Art Presented by the Everhart Museum

Each summer the Everhart Museum visits each library to do a program for kids. Since we aren’t doing programs in our libraries the Everhart Museum shared one of their programs with us.

Take an art journey through the story of Hiroto, a young fisherman from Kanagawa, Japan, on his first fishing expedition.

Fishermen in Japan would record their fish with ink and fabric. Try this version with Swedish fish instead of a real fish.

  • Gyotaku Print
  • Modification: The instructions call for a brayer and ink tray. A paintbrush and paperplate or similar materials can be used instead.
