Family Friendly Campaign Kick-off

Saturday, September 17, 2022, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.

The Nancy Kay Holmes Branch of the Scranton Public Library will hold the launch of a capital fund campaign to raise $300,000 to renovate and upgrade the library.

Individuals of all ages are invited to learn the details of the planned renovations, the fantastic progress of the campaign to date, and the announcement of Honorary Campaign Co-Chairs.

Glenna Lang, the author of Jane Jacobs’s First City, in which the Green Ridge section of Scranton and Dunmore play a prominent role, will speak about the history of the branch and its location and will be signing copies of her book.

Be sure to catch a sneak peek of local artist Austin Burke’s beautiful painting of the Nancy Kay Holmes Branch Library building. A print of the artwork will be on display during the event.

There will be live music and free art supplies for the entire family to paint a picture of what the library means to them.

This free event does not require registration and is for adults and families.
