Saturday Is Take Your Child to the Library Day

Make Library Visits a Regular Habit

All around the world, Saturday, Feb. 2 will be celebrated as “Take Your Child to the Library Day,” an initiative that encourages families to recognize the importance of their local library in the lives of their children.

The day was conceived by librarians to raise community awareness about the importance of the library in the lives of children, and it promotes library services and programs for them and their families.

While you’re there, sign your kids up for “Be a Smart Cookie,” the winter challenge for children now through Feb. 22 at all Lackawanna County libraries. In addition to books, there are activities, presentations, crafts, games, and more going on at the Library all the time. And kids of all ages can get involved.

Starting this Saturday, make visits to the Library a regular part of your routine. The children will love it!
