How much do you know about our environment and recycling? The Lackawanna County Environmental Office has a fun “Earthwise Escape Room” for kids in grades 1-5 with all ages welcome to participate. Kids will learn all about recycling, and how we can be an “Earth-wise” community on Thursday, June 22^nd at 2:00 P.M. in the Valley Community Library’s garden. Registration is required.

Doodling 101 offers a safe and fun environment to learn and practice drawing techniques with some of our favorite book characters. We will meet one Monday a month at 3:00. All ages are welcome at this program and it is perfect for young artist in grades 1-4. Come doodle with us at the Valley Community Library. Supplies will be provided. Registration is Required.

All ages and skill levels are welcome to come learn, and play chess once a month at the Valley Community Library.

This health literacy is a fun and energetic way to get up and moving with stretches, breathing exercises, different movement activities and dance. Families and all ages are welcome. On Thursday, July 13^th the Valley Community Library will host “Out of This World Chemistry with Jupiter Johnny.”  Kids, teens, and families will be delighted with hands on experiments, magic, and learning the wonderful world of chemistry. Jupiter Johnny, will be sure to have the whole family laughing with his unique combination of comedy and science. Be ready to have fun learning chemistry at 11:00 A.M. Geared towards ages 8 and older, space is limited so registration is required.

Calling all crafty teens, come to the Valley Community Library on Friday, July 14^th at 2:00 P.M. to upcycle old CDs into beautiful, fun summer suncatchers. All supplies will be provided. Bring your imagination and creativity. This program is geared towards teens ages 12-17. Registration is required.

The Valley Community Library will host Adulting 101 for those getting ready to enter the workforce with Amber Wendolowski. Amber is a Financial Services Professional with an MBA and lots of energy. Teens and young adults will learn the basic skills needed for adulthood in a fun, silly, and engaging setting. Registration is required.

The Friends of the Valley Community Library have sponsored shirts for our Battle of the Books teams. Kids and teens on our Valley Teams will be tie dying their shirts today.

Come All Together Now for an End of Summer Quest Party at the Valley Community Library on Saturday, August 12 at 2:00 P.M. We will be joined with the Friends of the Valley Community Library to paint kindness rocks, blow bubbles, draw with chalk, and have fun. Kids can even get a treat from the Fidelity Ice Cream Truck! Remember today is the last day to complete your reading and activities, so of course we will start with some of our favorite books of the summer! No registration is required for this all age party.
