Insulin Pump Support Group

Are you using or thinking of using an insulin pump to manage your diabetes? Talk with diabetics who know. Join insulin pump users with/without a sensor in a group setting to share and talk about your experiences. The group is open to children, parents, and senior citizens who are presently using a pump or are considering it. Meeting at the library and on Zoom.

 

On Thursday, April 17, 2025 at 6:00 PM Lindsey Kavalow, the Clinical Territory Manager for Medtronic who works out of Wilkes-Barre will speak to the group. She has an MS, RDN, LDN, and a CDCES and well informed about diabetes. It will be a great opportunity to learn more about pump therapy and what Medtronic offers. She will present an overview of what’s new with the Medtronic’s products and future innovations for Diabetes management which will include:

· The new MiniMed™ 780G insulin pump system is the only system with meal detection technology that provides automatic real-time adjustments and corrections every five minutes all day and night. The system connects directly with a compatible smartphone, allowing you to view sugar trends and insulin delivery on the go.

· The Extended infusion set is the first and only infusion set for approved for twice the wear, up to 7 days, which allows you to reduce the number of set changes and gives your favorite sites more time to heal.

· The InPen™ is a reusable smart insulin pen that uses Bluetooth® technology to send dose information to a mobile app. Offering dose calculations and tracking, InPen helps take some of the mental math out of your diabetes management.
