There will be a special Earth Day Storytime and Litter Study at the Valley Community Library on Monday, April 21 at 5:30 P.M. This event is family friendly and helps to promote equity and accessibility for those who are not able to attend any of our off-site cleanups either due to safety, age restrictions, or time constraints. We will start with reading some books that will aid in our conversation about what we notice with our Litter Study where we will sort and count every piece of litter that was collected by our Litter Librarian, Fawn.
This event is family friendly and all ages are welcome. Since we will not be out collecting litter this is the perfect event for the whole family. We will meet in front of the Library and give space for all voices to share in our discussion about the connection between litter and the environment, our health, observations, and how we can reduce our waste. Attendees will also learn about Recycling dos and don’ts in Lackawanna County.
Attendees are encouraged to wear their Community Cleanup shirts if they have them and are invited to wear bright colors as we will be talking about cleanup safety.
We invite everyone to visit inside the Valley Community Library after this event and throughout April and May to see our Litter Study board where you can see photos and the break-down of what we’ve collected at each cleanup event.
Advanced registration is required online.
Please register each person attending.
