Event Details

Join the Carbondale Public Library as we explore different walking trails in the area. Each walk will have presentations about different subjects. Each should take anywhere from an hour to an hour and a half depending on the subject and terrain. This program is recommended for adults. Some trails have uneven surfaces. Parking is available at each address.

Registration is required in case of cancellations.

July 3rd – Merli-Sarnoski Park
286 Sandy Banks Rd, Greenfield Township, PA 18407
Explore the trails of Merli-Sarnoski Park with us while learning about local Medal of Honor recipients. This walk will involve hiking trails.

July 10th – Aylesworth Park

Bring your favorite walking/nature apps for show and tell.  Discover other apps to help encourage you to explore the outdoors.  This walk will involve hiking trails.

July 17th – Lackawanna River Heritage Trail
200 Main St, Carbondale, PA  18407
Learn about the Lackawanna River Heritage Trails with Owen Worozbyt of the Lackawanna Heritage Valley Authority.

July 24th – D&H Rail Trail in Simpson
1 Morse Ave, Simpson, PA 18407
Bring your camera as we explore the D&H Trail while going on a photo scavenger hunt.

July 31st – YMCA Rail Trail
89 N. Main St, Carbondale, PA 18407
Join the Carbondale Library Garden Club as we identify different plants along the trail behind the Ben-Mar Restaurant.
