Be SMART was formed to take action to prevent child access to guns and to reduce the number of child firearm deaths that occur when guns are not stored securely. The campaign focuses on the importance of conversation, responsible gun storage, and community awareness.​  

Be SMART asks parents and caretakers, gun owners and non-gun owners alike, to “Be SMART” and take these simple steps: ​S​ecure all guns in your home and vehicles; ​M​odel responsible behavior around guns; ​A​sk about the presence of unsecured guns in other homes; ​R​ecognize the roles of guns in suicide; ​T​ell your peers to Be SMART. 

This Be SMART educational program provides the tools necessary to raise awareness and encourage good decisions on gun storage. Join us to hear more about Be SMART and learn techniques for speaking with others about secure gun storage. There will be time for questions and discussion following the presentation.
