September’s Classic Movie Night will feature Robert Altman’s 1982 classic drama Come Back to the 5 & Dime Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean, starring Cher, Sandy Dennis, Karen Black and Kathy Bates.   The screening is scheduled for Wednesday, September 18th at 6:30 PM in the Henkleman Room, located on the second floor of Scranton Public Library.

Admission is free with your library card.

Based on the stage pay of the same name, and featuring every member of the original Broadway cast, the film is set in a Texas 5&10 store in 1975, where The Disciples of James Dean meet up on the 20th anniversary of his death and mull over their lives, both in the present and in flashback, revealing the truth behind their complicated lives.

The film will screen at 6:30 PM, but early birds will be treated to vintage entertainment starting at 6 PM.
