This class will introduce Foundation Center which the Scranton Public Library currently has a subscription to.
Foundation Center is a database used to search for funding for different projects. It can show you information on non-profit foundations as well as the grant opportunities through these foundations. If you are looking to explore funding and grant opportunities for your organization or nonprofit, then this class is for you. Specifically, the class will go over:
- The website layout of Foundation Center
- The components of Foundation Center as a database
- What kind of information Foundation Center provides
- How to search on Foundation Center (examples: by subject, by funder, by geographic location)
- How to save searches and information on foundations
- GrantSpace – a resource provided by Foundation Center which details more of the grant writing process, including sample LOIs, grant narratives, and budget reports.
Registration is free and required. Space is limited. To register, RSVP below or call (570) 348-3000 ext. 3023.
