The Scranton Public Library’s Reference collection contains telegrams, letters, and proclamations made by former Scranton Mayor Robert H. McKune relating to the Great Railroad Strike of 1877. Lasting from late July through early October, the strike would reach its peak on August 1 when a riot would take place in downtown Scranton. Join us to explore the Great Railroad Strike of 1977 using the documents in the reference collection as a guide.
