Registration is free and required. Call the North Pocono Library at 570-842-4700 to register.

About the Book: When George Washington and his wife moved to Philadelphia from Mount Vernon, VA to accept the Presidency, they brought with them nine enslaved people – one of them was Ona Judge. Ona was the chief attendant for Martha Washington. In a time when some cities and states were abolishing slavery, including Philadelphia, the Washingtons found a way to prevent this from happening to their slaves. Ona Judge caught on to this subterfuge and risked everything in search of freedom. “Never Caught” is Ona’s story of freedom and survival.
