November 24, 2015
3,600 Titles Added to Digital Collection
Johannes Gutenberg revolutionized book publishing by inventing moveable type in 1439. Over 500 years later the next revolution in publishing was the creation of the eBook. Project Gutenberg, the first digital library, is committed to digitizing out-of-print books that are nevertheless culturally important.
Unlike other books from the Library System’s eBook supplier, OverDrive, Project Gutenberg titles are always available, even if the title is checked out by someone else. Check out the collection for classics you may have missed.
