While considerably more grounded than Satoshi Kon’s other work, “Tokyo Godfathers” is as thematically dense and vibrantly visualized as any of his other work. A Christmas tragicomedy, the story revolves around 3 unhoused people who find a baby on Christmas Eve, and the lengths they will go to try and return Kikiyo to her family. Along the way, they will confront their own pasts and definitions of family. This will be the first entry in a recurring program about Anime for teens.
