The Lackawanna County Library System is proud to offer two new databases that will help you stay up-to-date with current events and local history through verified, credible news sources.

America’s News can help you stay informed about local, regional, and national topics with a wide variety of vetted news sources spanning the United States. With titles including USA Today, Newsweek, and more, this database has current issues and archives back to the 1980s from over 4200 news titles. With America’s News, you can browse a range of topics like business, health, politics, and entrepreneurship across multiple perspectives. We hope that it will empower you to research topics that help you stay informed and engaged.

The Times-Tribune Collection contains current and past issues of The Scranton Times-Tribune with full-color pages and full-text articles. Including issues and online content from 2005 to the present day, this database will grant you free access to current issues so that you can stay updated with current events in Lackawanna County and the Greater Scranton Area from your personal device.

These two databases, like all of our online resources, are free to use for all Lackawanna County Library System cardholders. If you are interested in applying for a card, updating your information, or have any additional questions about your library account, visit our landing page or contact your local Library.
