2026 Annual Appeal – Carbondale Public Library

The Carbondale Public Library’s Annual Appeal is seeking to raise funds to sustain its community programs, resources, and engagement, while also covering rising operating costs and employee benefits. Contributions will support the library in continuing to offer diverse services like children’s programs, book clubs, and specialized groups such as ESL classes, Baby Bounce, and the SummerQuest reading program.

Our library, the oldest in Lackawanna County, highlighted the community impact of donations through various events like the Garden Club, Earth Day programs, Cruise into Kindergarten, Veterans Poetry Walk, and specific programs like Miss Angela’s Library Littles. Our library preserves the past while innovating for tomorrow. The appeal aims to ensure that the library continues to succeed and evolve with community support.

We are deeply grateful to have met last year’s fundraising goal and ask for your help with achieving it again. This year we have a massive need to replace our ever-failing elevator, and to keep up with rising operating costs. Every dollar raised sustains the programs, resources, and engagement our community depends on.
