Loan Periods

Loan Periods for the Lackawanna County Library System are as follows:

Books, Compact Discs, Talking Books, and Audio Cassettes — 2 week loan

Magazines, All Videos, DVD’s — 1 week loan

Four, two-week renewals are possible on books, talking books, audio cassettes, and compact discs. Two one-week renewal is possible on videos and DVD’s. NOTE: Items that are on hold cannot be renewed.

7-day loan material and magazines are not eligible for renewal.

Overdue Fines

As of January 1, 2026, the Lackawanna County Library System has gone fine free. There will no longer be late fees for overdue materials.

• Fees still apply to items that are marked as Lost after a period of 20 days from its due date.
• Each library location also has separate costs or fees for other services, including printing, faxing, scanning, copying, and special programs. Contact your preferred library or visit https://lclshome.org/library-services/ to check the cost for these services.
