Turn to Power Library for Your Research Projects

August 24, 2018

Whether school has just started or you are anxiously awaiting for that first day, now is a great time to familiarize yourself with one of the Library’s largest online resources – Power Library.

Power Library is a compilation of 24 individual online research websites. Through the Library Services and Technology Act, the Office of Commonwealth Libraries and the PA Dept. of Education, Power Library is made available to all residents of Pennsylvania with their library card.

Power Library provides access to research through photos, newspapers, biographies, academic journals, and other publications. This research covers a large variety of subjects, and there is a website for every grade level Pre-K through college.

Now let’s break it down by category. When you visit Power Library, you’ll see 13 categories, each with their own list of websites. These categories are Biography, Business, College Resources, Elementary Research, Education, Find A Book, General Reference, High School Research, Health/Sciences, Middle School Research, Newspaper/Magazines, and Spanish Language. You can browse the websites by these categories or click on the “List All” option to see the entire alphabetical list.

In the next few weeks, we’ll be featuring a few of the most popular websites in the Power Library collection. Until then, take this time to explore on your own or with your child the resources available. You can access Power Library by visiting lclshome.org/find.
