Alzheimer’s Awareness Month

Alzheimer’s Awareness Month

November 1, 2021

November is a time to spread awareness about Alzheimer’s disease and show support for the more than 5.8 million Americans living with it.

Access resources from the Greater Pennsylvania Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association here.

Through a partnership with the Lackawanna County Library System and the Wright Center, the Greater Pennsylvania Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association offers virtual support groups for dementia caregivers.  Attendees may participate via computer or phone.  Go to alz.org/crf for more information or click here to register for the November 14 group.

Support groups create a safe, confidential, supportive environment or community and a chance for participants to develop informal mutual support and social relationships. They also educate and inform participants about dementia and help participants develop methods and skills to solve problems.

Be proactive and get a free, confidential memory screening through the Alzheimer’s Association of America here.
