American Masters Lecture to Feature Presidential Historian

Douglas Brinkley, a presidential historian who has written books on Theodore Roosevelt, Franklin Roosevelt, John F. Kennedy, Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan, and serves commentator on the presidency for CNN, will deliver the 2016 American Masters Lecture.
A professor of history at Rice University in Houston, Texas, Brinkley has written 23 books. In addition to his presidential histories, he has written about a diverse range of American figures and movements ranging from Rosa Parks to Walter Cronkite.
The American Masters Lecture is part of the Library System’s Matthew F. Flynn Library Lecture Series. It was established by a group of community-minded individuals who wanted to support the tradition of presenting important speakers in Lackawanna County.
