Beat the Winter Blues with the Scranton Public Library’s Mini Golf Event
January 1, 2020
This family-friendly event will take place at the Albright Memorial Library on 500 Vine Street in Scranton and the Lackawanna County Children’s Library, next door. All proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit library programs and services for children.
People of all ages can enjoy playing 18 holes of mini golf right in the library. Each course is designed to use the library’s bookshelves, ramps, and open spaces to create a one-of-a-kind mini golf experience. The course will start at the Albright Memorial Library and continue into the Lackawanna County Children’s Library. Guests can also take a chance on several raffle baskets and enjoy light refreshments as they play. Putter and golf balls will be provided.
“The event is a great way for the library to raise awareness of its programs and services while providing a day’s entertainment for families looking to do something fun during the winter,” said Scott Thomas, CEO of the Scranton Public Library.
Tickets are on sale now and are available to purchase online at www.albright.org or in person at the Albright Memorial Library, Lackawanna County Children’s Library, Nancy Kay Holmes Library, and Library Express Bookstore. Tickets are $5 for children ages 12 and under and $10 for adults and children over 12. The snow date for the event is Sunday, February 9, 2020 from 12-4 pm. For more information, guests can call the library at (570) 348-3000.
