Get Ready for the Big Library Read!

Montgomery and the Case of the Golden Key by Tracy Occomy Crowder is the next selection for the club. A story for the whole family, the book, set in 2008, follows a 10-year-old boy, Monty, as he finds an old key and looks to solve its mystery. As he discovers the secrets of the key, he learns about the rich culture and history of his Chicago neighborhood.
Big Library Read runs from Thursday, November 7 through Thursday, November 21. Copies of this title will be available for free and with no waitlist using Libby. Log in online or download the app on your smart device to enjoy this title for free as well as thousands of others in our digital catalog.
There are several online events that help celebrate this global book club and this thrilling story. Firstly, kids ages 12 and under are invited to create artwork inspired by the book. Share creations on social media using the hashtag #BigLibraryRead during the club for a chance to win a prize pack! See the official rules for details. Additionally, readers are invited to a live, virtual reading held by Legler Regional Library in Chicago on Thursday, November 21 from 5 P.M. until 7 P.M. CDT. Tracy Occomy Crowder will attend between 6 and 7 for a live reading, Q&A, and story writing activity. Anyone interested in attending can register online.
