Chat with a Librarian on Power Library

August 23, 2026

Chat with a Librarian is a live chat service where librarians from all across the state are available to answer questions 24/7. Provided by Power Library, this free service is available for K-12 students, college students, and the general public. You can use Chat with a Librarian to find quality information and resources concerning:

General Research
Homework Questions
Science Fair and STEM Projects
Citation Resources
Genealogy Research
Reading Recommendations
and more!

Most chats last 10 to 15 minutes while library staff search for the best answers to your questions. While it is recommended that you provide an email address to save chat transcripts, you can also ask your questions anonymously. No names needed! You can access Chat with a Librarian directly from the Library System’s website. Just click on the blue speech bubble with the word CHAT on the lower right corner of the screen. You can also access Chat with a Librarian directly from the Power Library website.

Please note, the librarian assisting you can be from anywhere in Pennsylvania. If you have a question specific to Lackawanna County, please contact your library directly or contact us through our website. We strive to respond to any online submissions through our website within 24 hours.
