Chop Out Hunger
August 12, 2022
The Scranton Public Library has partnered with
Child Hunger Outreach Partners, an organization that is determined to eliminate childhood hunger in the United States.
The Lackawanna County Library System is now participating in CHOP’s Backpack Program, a free program consisting of a pre-packed bag of nutritious food and snacks to be taken home and prepared. As school pantries and lunches are unavailable during the summer, the backpack program aims to be sure the student isn’t hungry. These bags will be available to students throughout the rest of the summer and into the school year.
