Community Clean-up: Winton
April 26 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
Our Community Cleanups in partnership with the NEPA Sierra Club, Lackawanna County Environmental Office, and Keep NEPA Beautiful are back! Join us on Sunday, April 26 at 11:00 A.M. as we cleanup along Winton Street and Trailhead in Jessup. With our Best Practice’s Award-Winning Litter Study we take an in-depth look at what litter we are finding at each location. This year we are thrilled to be partnering with the Lackawanna Heritage Valley to include an invasive plant removal along this section of trail. Come learn about invasive plants, how to remove them, and hold conversations about the correlation between invasive plants and litter. This event is family-friendly and geared towards ages 8 and older. We will be in the woods and alongside the road, so parents must stay with their children. If you have a Community Cleanup Shirt from a previous cleanup, please wear that. You are welcome to bring your own gloves and trash grabbers. Trash bags, gloves, vest, and road signs are provided by Keep NEPA Beautiful.
