Join our annual award-winning Community Clean-Ups in partnership with Keep PA Beautiful, NEPA Sierra Club, and other local organizations. Each cleanup will focus on a litter study to promote deeper discussion about waste and the environment.
On Sunday, April 6 at 11:00 A.M. we will be working with Toni DeSantis from the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources and the Lackawanna State Park Service to learn about invasive plants. Those who would like to are invited to work with Toni and the Sierra Club for invasive species removal in this park. We will hold conversations about the correlation between invasive plants and litter along with sharing what we’ve found and how we can work to improve the health of our environment.
If you have a Community Cleanup Shirt from a previous cleanup please wear that. You are welcome to bring your own gloves and trash grabbers. If you have gardening tools like shovels, rakes, brush shears, or other tools you find useful in removing harmful plants you are welcome to bring those supplies. Trash bags, gloves, vests, and road signs are provided by Keep NEPA Beautiful.
