Insulin Pump Support Group

May 21 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Are you using or thinking of using an insulin pump to manage your diabetes? Talk with diabetics who know. Join insulin pump users with/without a sensor in a group setting to share and talk about your experiences. The group is open to children, parents, and senior citizens who are presently using a pump or are considering it. Meeting at the Library and on Zoom.

The presenter for the May 21st meeting will be Angie Marino, a registered dietitian and a certified diabetes care and education specialist. She is dedicated to helping people with Type 1, Type 2, gestational diabetes and prediabetes achieve their health goals. She finds joy in improving people’s quality of life through her work.

Her presentation will focus on “Preparedness”—Things You Should Know Before You Need to Use Them. She will talk about how to prepare for pump failures, trouble shooting, insulin delivery disruption, insurance coverage issues, algorithm optimization, Mother Nature and being prepared when there is a storm, power outrage, etc.

After being away from NEPA for over 20 years, Angie is happy to be back and serving her hometown community. She earned her applied nutrition degree from Penn State and completed her dietetic internship at Virginia Tech. In her free time, she enjoys running, biking with her husband, and walking her dog.

Mark your calendars and plan to attend the presentation at The Abington Community Library on Thursday, May 21st at 6:00 PM.
