GAR Civil War Museum to Co-Host Free Exhibit with Library

March 25, 2017

In honor of Abraham Lincoln, the Grand Army of the Republic Civil War Museum and Library will be co-hosting a free exhibit for children and teens ages 9-18 on Saturday, April 29 at 1:00 PM.

Guests will have the museum exclusively to themselves as they explore and learn more about the Civil War with museum instructors.

Civil War-period actors will tell stories about the artifacts on display and will be available to take photos with guests!

Raffle prizes will be at the door.

The Civil War Museum is located on the lower level of Scranton City Hall. Guests can use the side entrance of City Hall, facing Mulberry Street to access the museum.

The exhibit is the kick-off event for the partnership between GAR and the Scranton Public Library. Librarians will be at the event with a collection of books and movies about Abraham Lincoln and the Civil War that can be checked out that day.

The Scranton Public Library is excited to partner with GAR to bring this free educational event to our community!
