The Hugo Awards, science fiction’s most prestigious awards, have announced their short list for 2017. Winners will be announced on August 11 at World Science Fiction Convention (“Worldcon”) in Helsinki, Finland.

Science fiction’s most prestigious awards, Hugos are named after Hugo Gernsback, who, in 1926, founded Amazing Stories, the first American science fiction magazine, and did much to create an audience for the genre.
