UPDATE: Lackawanna County Libraries Are Closed until April 6
March 24, 2020
Precaution Taken to Limit Coronavirus Spread
All public libraries in Pennsylvania, including those in Lackawanna County, are closed at the order of Gov. Tom Wolfe as part of the statewide effort to limit the spread of the coronavirus.
Libraries join schools across Pennsylvania in shuttering. They will remain closed at least until April 6, according to the directive from the Governor’s Office that mandated the action.
With libraries closed, all scheduled events, meetings, presentations, meetings and clubs will not occur. Due dates for all checked-out materials have been extended to April 6, and no fines will accrue.
The Lackawanna County Library System will provide updates as details become available. Check our website and social media feeds for information.
