Libraries Come to Life for Summer Reading Program

Events and Activities All Summer Long
There will be a lot for kids to see and do at Lackawanna County libraries this summer and it’s all due to “Build a Better World,” a reading program full of fun and discovery. Here are some of the programs scheduled at libraries that children can enjoy just by signing up:
Saturday, June 10 @ 2 P.M. / Valley Community Library: Great Inventions of the World
Sunday, June 11 @ 2 P.M. / Lackawanna County Children’s Library: The Magic of Sharks!
Saturday, June 17 @ 12 – 3 P.M. / North Pocono Public Library: Star Wars Character Visit
Wednesday, June 21st @ 4 – 8 P.M. / Abington Community Library: Authentic American Indian Pow Wow
Monday, July 10 @ 11:30 A.M. / Nancy Kay Holmes Branch Library: ZooMobile!
Tuesday, July 11 @ 2 P.M. / Taylor Community Library: Build a Beautiful World with Art
Thursday, July 13 @ 1 P.M. / Carbondale Public Library: “S-T-E-A-M Punk” Adventure Puppet Show
Thursday, July 13 @ 3 P.M. / Library Express: The Butterfly Guy
Tuesday, July 25 @ 10:30 A. M. / Dalton Community Library: Children’s Yoga Class
“Build a Better World” runs from June 12th to August 4th. Kids who enroll can attend the programs at any library. They can also learn about birds of prey native to our area when the Endless Mountain Nature Center visits the libraries, and attend free events at popular local attractions.
