September 11, 2014
Albright Memorial Library will get you into the Halloween spirit with two nights of classic horror movies on the final two Thursdays of October. Screenings will be held in the Community Room (Basement of Lackawanna County Children’s Library).
Thursday, October 23rd will feature a classic horror double bill of 1931’s Frankenstein at 6 PM, followed by 1935’s The Bride of Frankenstein at 7:15 PM. As a special bonus, early birds will be treated to the 1969 “grade school classic” Halloween short Winter of the Witch (AKA “The Happy Pancake Witch”) at 5:30 PM.
Thursday, October 30th will feature a Pre-Code classic horror double feature of 1931’s Dracula, starring Bela Lugosi, at 6 PM, followed by 1932’s controversial and frequently banned classic Freaks at 7:20 PM. As a special bonus, early birds will be treated to the 1978 television classic Bugs Bunny’s Howl-oween Special at 5:30 PM.
Refreshments will be provided by The Friends of Scranton Public Library. Also, if you would like, we welcome you to bring your own special Halloween treats to share as well
