Looking for the perfect hostess, Holiday, stocking-stuffer, or birthday gift for family or friends? Look no further! The second edition of Clarks Summit: A Narrative has just been released and is available at the Library for only $15 / copy (tax included). This book details the history of Clarks Summit and the surrounding Abington area, and with the updated information, sure to bring a smile of recollection to anyone who has lived or worked in this here. Originally published in 1986 by John and Helen Villaume, the book was updated by the support of editor and graphic designer Ellen Beechko, contributors Charles Kumpas, Dennis Martin, and Warren Watkins, with new artwork by Shirley Eagen. This project was made possible by the generous support from the John and Helen Villaume Foundation and a Lackawanna County Arts and Culture Community grant, a program of Lackawanna County of the John and Helen Villaume Foundation, and support by a Lackawanna County Arts and Culture Community grant, a program of Lackawanna County Commissioners Patrick M. O’Malley, Jerry Notarianni, and Laureen A. Cummings. All proceeds benefit the Abington Community Library.
