Maker Mondays Celebrate National Poetry Month
March 21, 2014
April is National Poetry Month and we will be celebrating with two writing centered Maker Mondays.
Zine History and Creation Workshop with Jessica Meoni on Monday, April 7th at 7 pm.
Zines, stemming from “fanzines” of the early 1960s, have spanned generations in the underground literature, art, and music scenes in various areas of the world. Essentially a handmade magazine, discover the history and future of these publications and learn how to create one yourself with some basic supplies. Come with an idea you’d like to write about – music, travels, recipes, relationships, social issues – anything works!
Poetry Workshop with Scott Thomas on Monday, April 28th at 7 pm
Poet Scott Thomas will guide you as you take your poem from inspiration to final draft.
Both workshops will be held in the library’s Community Room located in the basement of the Lackawanna County Children’s Library.
