Marywood Student Receives Coveted Mobile Device
Dominick Rocco, a Throop resident and patron of the Valley Community Library, is the winner of a Samsung Galaxy S2 8.0 tablet, the top prize in the Lackawanna County Library System’s “March Madness Reading Challenge.”
A student at Marywood University where he is majoring in pre-physician’s assistant studies, Mr. Rocco read five books from a variety of categories to be eligible for the prize. He was one of 646 people who took part in the competition. Participants read a total of 1,629 books during the month.
Winners of prizes awarded at the library level are: Mary Ann Paulukonis, Abington Community Library; Bernie Poerster, Albright Memorial Library; Margaret Cerminaro, Carbondale Public Library; Ann Carter, Dalton Community Library; Eileen Crowley, Library Express; Roxann Cox, Nancy Kay Holmes Branch Library; Priscilla Unger, North Pocono Public Library; Patricia Salerno, Taylor Community Library; and Barbara Slovinsky, Valley Community Library.
