Marketplace Thanks!
November 21, 2016
The Board and staff of the Abington Community Library would like to extend their thanks to the vendors, shoppers, and those that purchased chance raffle tickets during our recent Dorothy Boccella HOLIDAY MARKETPLACE. This major fundraising event for the Library, in its 8th year, is a testament to the two women, Dorothy Boccella and Peg Winter, who epitomized enthusiasm for their respective crafts (knitting and quilting) and their love for people. Staff Sandy Longo and Patti Pallo have continued the process of choosing unique items, handcrafted locally, to be represented in Marketplace, and every year it gets better. Two groups that meet at the Library, Caring Hands and Always in Stitches, also give generously of their time and talents to benefit the Library that has brought them all together. Even patrons and Friends of the Library who aren’t necessarily as ‘crafty’ as the abovementioned individuals generously donate items to the chance raffle, along with a variety of wonderful local businesses. We thank everyone that participated in any way, from set up to clean up, in this highly successful, and fun, event! We’re already looking forward to 2017 and a class on wreathe-making by Marie Kapp (pictured).
