Scranton Public Library to Present Two Free Screenings of A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood Wednesday, March 11th

March 4, 2020

Scranton Public Library will be presenting two free screenings of the Oscar-nominated film A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood on Wednesday, March 11th at 2 PM and 6:30 PM.  The screenings will be held in the Henkelman Room, located on the second floor of the library, which is handicapped accessible.

Both screenings are free with your library card, and light snacks will be provided to all those who attend either screening.

Registration is suggested but not required to attend.

Two-time Oscar®-winner Tom Hanks portrays Mister Rogers in A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, a timely story of kindness triumphing over cynicism, based on the true story of a real-life friendship between Fred Rogers and journalist Tom Junod. After a jaded magazine writer (Emmy winner Matthew Rhys, “The Americans”) is assigned a profile of Fred Rogers, he overcomes his skepticism, learning about empathy, kindness, and decency from America’s most beloved neighbor.
