Summer Quest Begins
June 13, 2018
The Fun Runs from June 18 to August 10
Summer vacation is just weeks away and Lackawanna County libraries are busy building a schedule of fun and discovery to keep kids busy and engaged all summer long.
It’s called “Summer Quest” and it is full of projects, entertainment and – since it’s sponsored by Lackawanna County libraries – books.
Each library has a slate of activities to introduce children to the world around them. African drum circles, wildlife in various forms, magic, music and more will entertain and delight kids.
In addition to events at the libraries, the Everhart Museum, Steamtown National Historic Site, the Lackawanna Historical Society, Scranton Cultural Center, Anthracite Heritage Museum and the Electric City Trolley Museum all plan events just for “Summer Quest” participants.
And once again this year, the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders are offering a free ticket to Library Night at PNC Field for kids who read at least five books over the summer.
Like everything at the Library, “Summer Quest” is free! All you need is a library card and you can get one at any Lackawanna County library.
