UFO Day: Unfinished Objects / Projects
April 13, 2017
Have you ever wished you had an ENTIRE day to yourself, without interruption, so that you could finish a project? Food would ‘magically’ appear for lunch and dinner. And, you wouldn’t have to do dishes, answer the phone or door, and could just dedicate yourself to your unfinished (or new) project! Perhaps that project is a book, a model airplane, a hand knitted baby blanket, or a 1,000 piece puzzle. One of my ‘wishes’ is to work uninterrupted on my genealogy. Well…. we have the solution at the Abington Community Library. Saturday, April 22 is UFO Day @ the Library, dedicated to your ‘unfinished objects’. For a $50 donation to the Abington Community Library #NEPAMatchDay you’ll be able to work on whatever you want, here at the Library, without interruption and be served a delicious lunch and dinner between the hours of 10 AM and 10 PM.
Participants that have already registered plan to knit, crochet, do scrapbooking, build models, and work on genealogy using Ancestry.com for free on the Library computers. Whatever your desire, we will be here for you, but you have to register in advance. All it takes is a phone call to (570) 587-3440 and a tax deductible donation of $50 to secure your spot. Every dollar raised by this event will be matched by the Scranton Area Foundation as part of their #NEPAMatchDay initiative. Hope to see you there. I’ll be the one doing genealogy…
All gifts received by the Scranton Area Community Foundation for NEPA Match Day will be divided equally between our 25 nonprofit partners. If you would like to support one (or several) specific nonprofits, please donate directly to the nonprofit of your choice.
