Volunteer at your Library

Volunteer opportunities are available at all libraries in the Lackawanna County Library System.

Pennsylvania mandates that all employees and volunteers who come in contact with minors provide the library with three clearances:  PA State Police Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse History Clearance, and an FBI record check.  Failure to provide all three clearances will prohibit employment or volunteer participation. Please be aware that clearances may take several weeks to be processed.

Volunteer duties may include:

1. 1. Shelving Books
   2. Craft Prep
   3. Book Discussions
   4. Program Facilitators
   5. Special projects
   6. Other duties based on volunteers skill level

Volunteer Coordinators accept volunteers for service after review of application and interview, if suitable positions are available.  Please contact the library of your choice for an application.
