Reading Starts a Revolution: Winter Challenge for All Ages
January 5, 2026
When you read, you grow ideas that can change in the world.
In the spirit of the 250th anniversary of the United States’ independence, join our “Reading Starts a Revolution” Winter Challenge and discover how stories can inspire action, empathy, and a better future one reader at time. Completing our Challenge can help you educate yourself about our country’s rich culture and history, preserve the revolutionary spirit of our nation’s beginnings, innovate new paths towards a brighter future, and celebrate our fundamental freedoms.
Winter Challenge begins on Monday, February 2, and runs through Saturday, February 28. Pick up an activity log during the challenge and return a completed sheet to your Library during the Challenge to be entered to win a prize. Libraries will be offering a variety of programs for all ages that celebrate our nation’s anniversary, including themed storytimes, book clubs, film screenings, lectures, and crafts.
