The Carbondale Public Library will be hosting the national book launch of local children’s author Patricia Thomas’ new book, “Green Bean! Green Bean!” on Saturday, April 2, from 2-4 PM. Children and adults are invited to meet the author and enjoy an afternoon of activities, crafts, food and fun.

In “Green Bean! Green Bean!” a young gardener creates her own secret hideaway using a packet of seeds. Not only is this rhyming story fun, but it’s also educational. Children will be entertained by a story, but will also learn about the life cycle of plants.

Included at the end of the book are well-researched supplemental sections providing life cycle science, related vocabulary, information on gardening—and poetry—plus activities for children and parents or teachers.

A SPECIAL PREVIEW will take place at Freeplay and Storytime on Thursday, March 31st @ 11 AM.
