Lackawanna County Libraries appreciate your help and you can give it as a donor or as a volunteer, by joining a library Friends Group or becoming a member of the Library Lecture Society.
Choose how you would like to offer your help and support:
A monetary gift to the Lackawanna County Library System or one of its member libraries helps ensure continued service to over 60,000 library card holders in the communities we serve. There are many ways that you can give. You can support the Library System, which provides funding for all Lackawanna County libraries, or you can donate to a specific library. If you wish to pay tribute to someone special or make a memorial contribution, a donation to the library is a fitting gift and will be acknowledged. You can choose how your money is used.
Join A “Friends of the Library” Group
Friends of the Library work tirelessly to support the mission of their library by raising money through book sales and social events, and by presenting outreach programs to help people get to know the library resources available to them. If you would like to meet and work with other community minded people, join the Friends of the Library in your community.
Join the Library Lecture Society
Since it began in 2005, the Matthew F. Flynn Library Lecture Series has presented many outstanding speakers such as historian David McCullough, novelist Salman Rushdie, children’s book author and television personality Henry Winkler, presidential historian Michael Beschloss, deep sea explorer Robert Ballard, theoretical physicist Michio Kaku, and humorist Fran Lebowitz. You can help us continue the tradition of bringing outstanding speakers to Lackawanna County by joining the Library Lecture Society.
Be A Volunteer
If you are looking for a volunteer opportunity that benefits the people of your community, the library is a great place to start. No matter what your age, from pre-teen to senior citizen, you can help. As a library volunteer, you will be joining a team of dedicated professionals and volunteers who make a difference in the lives of the people we serve.
